Polar Bear Pitching
Fibo travelled to icy Finland to compete against 20 other startups for a total of 10K cash prize as well as a two-weeks stay in Hacker Hotel Mustakarhu and an office space for two weeks in Plug-and-Play Tech Center, both located in Silicon Valley, USA.
Finalists gave their pitches while standing waist-deep in ice hole, carved in the frozen Baltic Sea. Finals were judged by international investors, such as Eeswaran Navaratnam from 01 Ventures, Henry Ines from Draper Dragon and a startup guru Shraga Katz.
This Finnish ice hole pitching competition, called Polar Bear Pitching, is held in Oulu every February and it gathers hundreds of participants from all around the world.
